We Speak trains you as a mentor so you can transform the speaking confidence of under-represented student.
You'll take part in a 2.5 hour training session and then the programme runs for one hour a week over 4 weeks. All sessions take place online via group video calls where you'll work 1:1 and in small groups.
The next programme takes place late February - March 2024, and you can select dates you're available for in the registration form.
Mentors are supported by We Speak facilitators, graduates of We Speak who are now confident enough to deliver the programme.
The only criteria for mentors is that you are friendly and approachable as this creates a supportive environment for the students who lack confidence.
"I have continued to find being a mentor extremely rewarding again this year. The most amazing thing was seeing students grow from earlier sessions until the final wrap-up. It has helped me work on my own confidence. Just a huge thank you for making this happen and for getting us involved as an organisation.” Mentor, Dojo

Support from We Speak Facilitators
Our workshop Facilitators are university students and graduates who have taken part in the We Speak programme themselves to build confidence.
They'll work alongside Mentors during the programme so you can help the participants find out what they're passionate about and give them supportive feedback.
The Facilitators are a really friendly group of people who are on hand to help support your conversations with our less confident students.
