• Call out for Investec volunteer Mentors

Help transform the speaking confidence of students from under-represented backgrounds

  • We Speak, one of the winners of Investec Beyond Business and NatWest Star of the Future Award, is looking for Investec volunteer mentors.

We Speak runs an online programme to help students from under-represented backgrounds build speaking confidence. Students experience an average 44% increase in speaking confidence.

As a Mentor, you'd take part in a training session and then the programme runs for 1 hour a week over 4 weeks. All sessions take place online via video calls.

The only criteria for mentors is that you are friendly and approachable as this creates a supportive environment for the students who lack confidence.

    Support from We Speak Facilitators

Our workshop Facilitators are university students and graduates who have taken part in the We Speak programme themselves to build confidence.

They'll work alongside Mentors during the programme so you can help the participants find out what they're passionate about and give them supportive feedback.

The Facilitators are a really friendly group of people who are on hand to help support your conversations with our less confident students.
